IN recent weeks a spate of letters have appeared in our local press criticising and condemning the so-called 2020 Vision.

It is very obvious that the general public in Harlow does not want the 'vision', and we certainly don't need an unelected quango telling us what is good for us!

Harlow's coalition council is taking its time making up its minds, and surely they are right to examine all the implications before making a positive decision.

The former Labour administration set up this quango.

Surely Harlow Council must have qualified planning engineers who are very able to draw up plans for expansion in line with Sir Frederick Gobberd's essential guidelines in the original town plan?

In conclusion may I say that I am confident that Harlow's proposed population of 160,000 as suggested by the 'vision' will be soundly rejected by our coalition council!

The quango must go, and the policy of residents first must prevail.

NORA ARNOTT, Potters Field, Harlow.
