Robert Candler, of Church Hill School, East Barnet, is the Barnet Primary Schools' Player of the Year.

He came out on top in a poll of his team-mates in the borough squad, and collected the Geoff Niblett Trophy during the presentation at Moss Hall School, Finchley, on Friday.

"Robert is quick and strong and has a sharp eye for a scoring opportunity," said Barnet secretary Alex Jones.

Candler scored 22 goals for Church Hill, who won the Barnet North Small Schools' League for the third successive year, joint top with Brunswick Park.

Other boys who represented the borough during the season were: Ciaron Gallager Church Hill); Troy Gunn (Deansbrook); Owen Bradley, Sebastian Delamothe, Elliott Tang (Brooklands); Arold Falanga, Ricky Gibbs (Woodcroft); Alex Fletts (St John's N20); Sebastian Khan (Holy Trinity); Milo Craig, Paco Craig, James O'Connor (St Theresa's); Mark Leach (St John's N11); Oliver Walter, Leigh New (Livingstone).

Trophies and medals were presented by Dave Anderson and Garry Hill, managers of Hendon and Dagenham respectively and the Deputy Mayor of Barnet, Councillor Andreas Tambourides.

Dick Bailey Cup: Ossidge; runners-up St Theresa's.
