Pupils of Garston manor were encouraged to make contact with the sergeant during his initial aircrew training at the Altus Air Base in Oklahoma, USA, for the C -17 Globemaster 111, during ICT lessons as part of a communications syllabus.
The C-17 aircraft a revolutionary aircraft equipped to take its users into 21st Century technology was first delivered to Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, in May this year and to date pupils of Garston Manor are the first school in the country to have e-mailed any of its crew.
