THE Leggatts campus of West Herts College will officially go up for sale later this month.
The campus will close because it lacks long-term potential and ongoing value for money.
The college in Leggatts Way, Watford, it will remain open for one more academic year.
This means any students currently applying for courses this September will study there next year.
West Herts College Principal Elizabeth Rushton said: "Leggatts campus has served us well and Ofsted recognised the quality of our engineering workshops there when they inspected the College last November.
"But in terms of long-term potential and ongoing value for money, the Leggatts site falls short."
Demand has been growing for skills courses such as electrical installation and motor vehicle engineering at the Leggatts campus.
Construction courses at the Dacorum campus in Hemel Hempstead are also popular.
With the closure of the Leggatts site, a new single campus, combining all of the skills courses at one specialist centre, could be opened.
Several potential sites, convenient for students from both Watford and Hemel Hempstead, are being investigated.
