Two family homes will be demolished to make way for eight new flats.
Watford Borough Council has granted permission for the development in Whippendell Road.
The site, at the corner of King George’s Avenue, is currently occupied by a pair of semi-detached houses and a small parcel of empty land.
Neighbouring residents have complained about the impact of the development, arguing that it would tower over their homes. They also argue that its seven proposed parking spaces will lead to overflow parking in surrounding streets.
The concerns, however, have proved insufficient to prevent the granting of the application.
A previous application, which sought permission for 12 houses on the site, was abandoned by the developer in January of this year.
