Hornets’ manager Gianfranco Zola and long-serving right back Lloyd Doyley have thrown their support behind The Peace Hospice ahead of a national week celebrating the work of hospices.
Hospice Care Week begins this week and will see a number of events in the town, kicking off with an awareness day at Watford FC's home match against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
From Monday there will be other events at the Harlequin and town hall as well as an open day at the hospice, in Rickmansworth Road.
Sue Plummer, chief executive of The Peace Hospice, said "This is the biggest programme we have ever had for Hospice Care Week and it’s aimed at connecting with the general public, health care professionals, faith leaders and schools.
"We really hope these events inspire people to get involved and in turn help to educate people about the great work that hospices do".
