Mark Warburton - who was Watford's assistant academy manager less than four years ago - has been named the new manager of Brentford.
Warburton was removed from his position by the Hornets in February 2010 and a year later linked up with Brentford as interim first team coach alongside temporary manager Nicky Forster.
The following summer Warburton was promoted to sporting director and had worked closely with former boss Uwe Rosler, who was appointed by Wigan Athletic three days ago.
Warburton had worked his way up from part-time coach at Watford to academy manager with the Hornets before the club’s reshuffle in the summer of 2009 resulted in him becoming assistant academy manager for 17 to 19-year-olds.
Warburton, whose son Jack was a scholar with the Golden Boys, is also co-founder of the successful NextGen Series, a Champions League-style tournament for under-19s.
