Goalkeeper Rafa Romo has returned to Udinese after his short-term loan deal with the Hornets ended this week, the Watford Observer understands.
The 25-year-old joined up with Quique Sanchez Flores' side ahead of their Premier League opener at Everton as cover for summer signing Giedrius Arlauskis, who was suspended for the Hornets’ first two matches of the season.
Watford did not confirm his arrival but the Venezuelan travelled with the Golden Boys to Goodison Park and was again in attendance on Saturday as the Hornets drew 0-0 with West Bromwich Albion.
Romo was not named in either of the match-day squads, however, with Rene Gilmartin selected as the back-up goalkeeper to Heurelho Gomes.
But with Arlauskis available for selection for Sunday’s clash against Southampton, Romo has returned to Udinese and is expected to be the Italian’s side second-choice stopper for the forthcoming Serie A season.
