Watford are yet to table a bid for Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic but do have an interest in the Serbian winger.
Markovic, 23, has been linked with a move to Vicarage Road to link-up with former boss Marco Silva, who he played under on loan at Hull City last season.
However, while the Hornets do have an interest in the ex-Benfica man, they are not yet at a stage where any formal negotiations have commenced.
Sources close to the Reds have suggested while they publicly are seeking to recoup the £20million they paid for Markovic in 2014, a bid in the region of £12million would be enough to prize him away from the North West.
Markovic arrived at Anfield alongside a flurry of other signings in the wake of Luis Suarez’s big-money move to Barcelona, but failed to make an impact and has made less than 20 league starts during his time at the club.
Watford are in need of re-inforcements out wide with loanee M’Baye Niang returning to AC Milan, and Feyenoord said to be considering a bid for Steven Berghuis after selling Rick Karsdorp to Roma for €17million.
