Matt Wallace will be looking to climb back up the leaderboard at the BMW SA Open after a testing second round.

Having been within three shots of the overnight lead following a four-under-par first round 68, the Moor Park professional has slipped to 11 shots off the pace after shooting a two-over 74 at Glendower Golf Club.

The day started positively with a birdie four at the second, but Wallace struggled through the middle section of the front nine with three consecutive bogeys from the fourth to the sixth, pulling one of those shots back with another par five birdie at eight.

Having gone out in a one-over-par score of 37, the 27-year-old dropped two more shots at 10 and 11, before the highlight of his round saw him make eagle at the par five 15th to move back to plus-one for his second 18 holes. However, the round was to finish in disappointing fashion with a sixth bogey at the par four 18th.

Wallace will go into the third round in a tie for 41st place, with joint leaders Chris Paisley and Adrien Saddier holding a four-shot lead over the field on 13-under.
