Javi Gracia might not get the best first impression of British officials when he takes charge of his debut Watford FA Cup and Premier League games over the next week.

Under-fire duo Bobby Madley and Jon Moss will officiate this weekend's cup trip to Southampton and next Wednesday's league game at Stoke City respectively.

Madley has come in for flak in recent weeks for a string of errors, including awarding Callum Wilson's late handball equaliser for Bournemouth against West Ham, failing to send off Simon Francis for a high kick in Cheikh Kouyate's face in the same game, and awarding Leicester a penalty for a non-existent foul by Kyle Walker on Demarai Gray.

He has not taken charge of a Watford game all season, and the Hornets lost all four of the matches he officiated last season. During one of those, a 1-0 defeat to Stoke City at Vicarage Road, he also sent off Miguel Britos.

Moss has had a similarly busy few weeks, and as recently as Saturday was accused of missing a pair of penalties by Brighton manager Chris Hughton when they lost to Chelsea.

Watford Observer:

He also awarded a controversial spot kick to Crystal Palace against Manchester City on New Year's Eve, and was forced to apologise to Bournemouth's Adam Smith when he booked him for diving instead of pointing to the spot when he was fouled in the box against Southampton.

Moss has run the rule over Watford twice this season, with both games ending in 4-2 defeat, the first to Chelsea in September and then again at home to Manchester United in late-November.
