Didier Ndong will complete a loan move from Sunderland later today, becoming Watford's third incoming of the transfer window.

The 23-year-old cost the Black Cats more than £13 million only 18 months ago, but he has fallen out of favour with a succession of managers at the Stadium of Light.

The Hornets have been on the look-out for a defensive-minded midfielder during the transfer window but were priced out of the running for Anderlecht's Belgium international Leander Dendoncker yesterday.

They first mate tentative enquiries about Ndong at the start of the window but have only firmed up their interest in the past few days, and he is expected to arrive with an option to buy.

He has just finished serving a three-match suspension for a red card in his last game, a 4-0 defeat to Cardiff City with Sunderland. Before that, he has played less than 40 minutes of league football since the start of November.
