After the ecstasy that came with Monday night’s much-needed win over Chelsea, Abdoulaye Doucoure insists Watford must build further momentum against West Ham tomorrow.
The Hornets are still part of the relegation shake up despite defeating the Blues to take them six points clear of the bottom three.
Javi Gracia’s men remain 11th in the table after a victory which has lifted the mood around Vicarage Road considerably.
Doucoure understands the importance of taking that positive atmosphere into tomorrow’s visit to east London and taking all three points from their clash with David Moyes’s men.
“We have to keep going and work more. We go to West Ham, which is a challenge for us. I hope we play the same game as we did against Chelsea,” the midfielder said.
“We go to West Ham to win and they are a side near the relegation zone, so we need to take as many points as we can.”
While the Hammers’ form of one win in five league outings is far from impressive, Doucoure says nothing can be taken for granted.
With this in mind, Doucoure says the Hornets will retain their focus against tomorrow’s hosts until the full-time whistle sounds.
He said: “You don’t know what will happen because the Premier League is very quick and every game is hard.
“We have to go to West Ham to try and get the three points and then we can relax a little bit if we manage to win the game.”
