Dodi Lukebakio hopes to produce an improved performance in his next Watford outing after a difficult Premier League debut.
The January arrival came on for the final 15 minutes of Watford’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of fellow strugglers West Ham United on Saturday.
He looked well off the pace during his cameo appearance, but claimed coming on with Watford already trailing made it a tough environment to make his Hornets bow in.
He told the club website: “It was difficult for me because I came on with the score at 1-0 and the situation was not easy for me.
"I hope to do better in the next game."
Watford’s display at London Stadium was well below the standard required and West Ham were good value for their victory.
Adrian Mariappa gave a frank assessment of Watford’s performance and highlighted two poor goals which cost Javi Gracia’s men.
He said: “We weren’t good enough. We conceded a couple of disappointing goals and it is back to the drawing board now.
“We have a welcome break now and hopefully we can get a couple of players back.”
