Watford are reportedly in the running to sign Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic this summer.

The 25-year-old has been the subject of interest from Premier League clubs in the past, with Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea believed to have monitored his progress.

A reported €16 million January bid from Everton saw the Toffees move to the front of the queue to secure his services.

However, reports emanating from Italy suggest Watford have now entered the race for 32-time capped Croatian.

The Pozzo family are expected to hold talks with Inter over the potential transfer of Udinese’s Seko Fofana.

With the Pozzo’s owning both Watford and Udinese, these meetings could well be used to open up discussions over Brozovic joining Watford.

No fee has been set for the potential signing but Everton’s offer last month was not enough to convince Inter to sell the player.

They are thought to want closer to €20m for a player who has made 10 appearances and scored three goals for the Nerazzurri.

With speculation surrounding the future of Abdoulaye Doucoure, Watford could well be on the lookout for reinforcements in central midfield at the end of the season.
