Nordin Amrabat completed 87 minutes for Leganes and found the net to help seal a 2-0 win over Malaga on Saturday.
Having completed just 34 minutes of Malaga’s 1-0 defeat at Sevilla last Wednesday Isaac Success was not in the squad for his loan side.
Mauro Zarate also found the net for Valez Sarsfield as he scored just before the hour mark, but couldn’t inspire his side to a win as they lost 2-1 to Racing Club.
Alex Jakubiak was unable to inspire Falkirk in the Scottish FA Cup as they went down to a 4-1 defeat against Rangers at Ibrox.
Jason Cummings was the star of the day as he scored all four of the Rangers goals to give the home side a comfortable win.
Elsewhere north of the border, Brandon Mason was an unused sub as Dundee United fell to a 2-1 loss against Livingston in the Scottish Championship.
Costel Pantilimon’s form in the Nottingham Forest goal continued on Saturday to help his side to a 2-1 win over Birmingham at the City Ground.
The result means Forest have now gone four games without defeat in the Championship and sit 15th in the table ahead of a visit to Norwich City tomorrow night.
Obbi Oulare was also on the winning side as he made a 15 minute substitute appearance for Royal Antwerp during their 2-0 defeat of KAS Eupen.
Randall Williams and Charlie Rowan were both frustrated as the adverse weather ensured Wycombe Wanderers and Accrington Stanley’s clashes were postponed.
