Mohamed Salah was the main attraction at Anfield as Watford were put the sword by a rampant Liverpool in a 5-0 loss.

The Egyptian scored four and set up another on a sorry day at the office for Javi Gracia’s Watford who rarely looked like worrying their hosts.

In snowy conditions on Merseyside, Salah netted his first after just four minutes as he fired through Orestis Karnezis after jinking past Miguel Britos.

He made it two from close-range just before the half-time interval to leave Watford facing an uphill task to get back into the game.

Things only got worse for the Golden Boys after the break as Roberto Firmino made it three in the 50th minute with a clever flicked finish.

With the result all but decided, Watford continued to toil going forward and they were thankful to Karnezis for some smart saves which kept the score down.

What little resistance they did offer was broken once again when Salah managed to work his way past three Watford players and poke home to complete his hat-trick.

Watford’s suffering was finally complete when Salah scored a fourth with five minutes to play to once again send Watford home from Anfield empty hands.

For those who can stomach it, here’s a selection of images from a miserable Merseyside match.
