Abdoulaye Doucoure is Watford’s Players’ Player of the Year after enjoying an outstanding 2017/18 campaign.

The midfielder picked up his prize after the Hornets final home game of the season, which ended with a 2-1 win over Newcastle United.

A season which has yielded seven goals for Doucoure has seen the 25-year-old’s stock rise dramatically and it was little surprise to see him pick up the award.

His goals make him the club’s top scorer this term and he has been a driving force at the heart of the Watford midfield all season.

In a speech after full-time at the Vic, Doucoure took the chance to thank both the Watford supporters and his team mates before leading the crowd in a rendition of his chant.

Christian Kabasele was also honoured in the wake of the much-needed victory over the Magpies as he picked up the Community Ambassador award.
