Premier Division

Oakview finally clinched the Premier Division title for a 15th time – and a fifth straight season - despite not playing as nearest challengers Reed Rangers suffered a 5-3 defeat to Fox & Hounds.

Reed needed to take the three points and put the pressure on Oakview to win their final league game, but they failed to do so after losing a 2-0 lead.

Josh Noyes scored a double for Fox, with singles from Alex Witham, Joe Davies, and Jake Wilson. Jamie Speer, Karl Penny and Nathan Singh got the Reed goals.

It was too little, too late for West Herts as they recorded their first back-to-back wins of the season with a 2-0 away victory over Rifle Volunteer which saw them move off the bottom of the table. But it was not enough to lift them out of the relegation places, due to a inferior goal difference with Rickmansworth Town.

They went ahead in the first half after Chris Colman’s shot was saved but Ralph Thomson was quickest to react to the rebound.

Both sides missed chances after the break but with 10 minutes left Tiago Campos collected the ball on the left, cut inside and shot home from 20 yards to give the keeper no chance and at least give them hope for next season.

Rickmansworth managed to survive the drop thanks to a better goal difference of 26, although they suffered a 3-2 home defeat to Chorleywood Club who finished the season in fifth position.

Ewen Reeves put Chorleywood ahead after eight minutes before the home side missed a first-half penalty.

Chorleywood’s Ryan McMahon made no mistake with his own spot-kick six minutes into the second half, their opponents then pulled a goal back through T.Gibson before Robbie Martin scored the visitors’ third 18 minutes from time.

H.Devall scored another for the home side but it was not to prevent a 10th and final league defeat of the season.

Division One

Compasses North clinched runners-up and promotion to the Premier Division after gaining a 1-1 draw in the first game of the double-header with champions Evergreen.

Maz Urgo put Compasses ahead before Evergreen prevented what would only have been a second league defeat of the season thanks to a late Tom Verbena equaliser.

The second game was more straightforward for Evergreen as they rounded off a fine campaign with a 5-1 win; Saope Soko with a brace and a goal each for Joss Dunham, Verbena and Chris Johns. Mick Twelves scored for Compasses.

The point gained by Compasses was enough as Colne Valley suffered a 5-1 defeat to North Watford which means they finish in third place for a second straight season, while the win confirmed their opponents’ safety.

Spencer Warby put Valley ahead in the first half after some good work from Tom Butler, but North Watford reshuffled at the break and the adjustments had the desired effect as they scored five times through two-goal Shoaib Ali and one each from Olando Merdith, Aamer Khan and Connor Twomey.

FC Unicorn took fourth place after finishing level on points with Colne Valley, but just two goals behind as a 5-2 win over Bushey Sports Club was not enough to take advantage of Valley’s defeat.

Dale Jenkins and Jamie Pickering scored the Bushey goals with Unicorn replying thanks to a Callum O'Connor double, a lob from Luke Peerless, and goal from Louis Soper and one from goalkeeper Michael McManamon from open play.

Division Three

Runners-up Bushey Rangers beat third-placed Sun Regent Sports 8-1 to finish a sizeable 13 points ahead of their opponents in the table.

Charlie Barnett scored a hat-trick, with Sean Grennan, Jack Barr, Stephen King, Gary Yervey and an own goal to round off the season. Ben Dunton got Sun’s consolation.

Division Four

Everett Rovers’ two wins in their double header against Railway Arms finally sealed their long-awaited title to complete the treble following their Junior Cup and Herts Junior Cup triumphs as well.

The first game saw a 4-0 win with Joe Chance taking advantage of a rare start to score a brace in the first half.

With Everett starting strongly, Chance netted his first goal after five minutes from close range.

Chance’s second came after a well-worked corner was delivered by Craig Scott and he smashed home the ball on the half-volley to give the keeper no chance.

Everett continued where they left off after the break with Joe Gallagher, back from a long-term injury, scoring the second brace of the game.

The second game saw Everett more off the pace but they still ran out 5-3 victors after taking the lead early on from Mark Hansard.

Railway levelled with a goal from a corner scored by Dennis Toomey when their opponents were unable to clear.

However, Rovers regained the led almost immediately when good passing by Luke Preedy saw Hansard score his second.

The second half saw Hansard complete his hat-trick before Conner Cooper-Collins pulled a goal back for Arms.

Chance then scored his third of the day before Hansard took his tally to four.

But Railway had the consolation of netting the goal of the day with a shot from 30 yards from Jack Merrix that Everett keeper Marc Flynn had no chance with.

AFC Batchworth, who have kept the pressure on Rovers until the end, finished deserved runners-up after they also secured two victories from a double header with Oxhey Athletic, who finished in fifth place.

The first game was won 5-0 thanks to Jake Knight with two goals and Alan Palmer-Halligan, George Dalling and Harry Lord completing the scoring.

In the second game, Craig Mathieson, Palmer-Halligan and Knight were on target in a 3-0 win.

Invitation Cup Group D

North Watford defeated Chess United 3-2, but it was enough for them to catch Sun Regent Sports, who are confirmed as semi-finalists with the games to be played at the start of next season.

Asif Khan, Shakeb Ali and Daniel Flanagan scored for the victors with Liam Rogers and Craig Putman replying.
