Orestis Karnezis has completed his expected transfer to Napoli.
The move was announced by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentis on Twitter and sees the Greek international join fellow goalkeeper Alex Meret in making the switch in a combined deal with Udinese reported to be worth €28 million.
Karnezis spent last season on loan at Vicarage Road and, despite claiming he would have liked to have made the move permanent during his stay, he is now set to play a mentoring role to the highly-rated Meret after moving clubs in Italy.
Despite enduring a forgettable debut following his howler in the 3-2 at Everton, Karnezis recovered and by the end of the season had usurped Heurelho Gomes as first choice between the posts.
