Watford Ladies have continued to bolster their ranks ahead of the new season by signing defender Lauren Peck from fellow FA Women’s National League South outfit Portsmouth.

The 22-year-old full-back joins the Hornets having spent two seasons with Pompey and is a former Chelsea Centre of Excellence player.

General manager Ed Henderson told the club’s website: "Lauren is a player we have been keeping an eye on for a while now, after first showing an interest in January.

"She's going to add pace and directness to the side, and will complement the style of play (head coach) Armand [Kavaja] and his staff are implementing ahead of the new campaign.

"We're really pleased with the quality we're adding to the side, and it's important to recruit players that have played in this league, and know what it's about.

"With a few more additions still due in, we are really looking forward to the new season, and hope to see as many Watford fans as possible supporting the side during the season."
