Watford head coach Javi Gracia has provided an update on a host of first-team players who have been struggling with injuries in the build up to tomorrow’s game against Brighton.
Tom Cleverley, Stefano Okaka, Ben Wilmot, Gerard Deulofeu and Nathaniel Chalobah will all miss the clash, but Abdoulaye Doucoure is fit for the Seagulls’ visit.
Having seen much of last season disrupted by injury, Watford fans will be wary of a similar fate befalling their team this as Gracia ran through his list of absentees.
“We finished last season with some players injured and we are in the same position with some of them. With Cleverley and Okaka they are injured,” he said.
“Deulofeu started to train last week but had a little problem (abductor) and for Saturday I do not think he will be ready.
“Chalobah is training with the team, but will not be ready and Ben Wilmot has a little problem with his knee.”
Gracia did, though, have better news on Doucoure and confirmed he will feature tomorrow afternoon.
He said: “In this moment there are many different situations, but Doucoure is fit and in good condition to play.”
