Watford head coach Javi Gracia has cast doubt on the futures of Marvin Zeegelaar and Younes Kaboul, hinting that the duo could leave the club before the end of the month.

Left-back Zeegelaar has fallen further down the pecking order following the arrival of Adam Masina from Bologna this summer and didn’t feature for the Hornets during pre-season.

The Dutchman only moved to Vicarage Road last summer from Sporting Lisbon but endured a stop-start debut campaign in Hertfordshire, making just 13 appearances in all competitions, the last of which coming in February against West Ham.

Kaboul, meanwhile, has endured a torrid time with injuries since joining Watford from Sunderland and didn’t feature for the Golden Boys again last season after limping off against Southampton in September.

Both now appear be out of favour with the Hornets and Gracia said that the duo’s future would be decided ‘in the next few days.’

“We’ll see in the next few days what will happen with Marvin and Kaboul because in this moment, we have other players in the same position,” Gracia said.

“At left back, we’ve got Adam Masina, Jose Holebas and in the next few days, we’ll decide what will happen with these players and Marvin is one of them.

“Kaboul is not training with us in this moment with the team. He’s fit. But we will see in the next few days what will happen with his future. In this moment, what I can say is that he’s fit. But he’s not training with the team.”
