Christian Kabsele’s strong start to the season with Watford has been rewarded with a call-up to the Belgian squad.

The Hornets defender is one of seven defenders named by Roberto Martinez in a 26-man squad for the Nations League clash with Switzerland on Friday, October 12, followed by a friendly against neighbours the Netherlands on Tuesday, October 16.

The 27-year-old, who has been an ever-present for Javi Gracia’s men in the Premier League this season, will be hoping to add to his two senior caps to date.

Meanwhile, Ben Wilmot’s progress up the England ladder continues after he was named as a training player for the Under-20 squad.

The 18-year-old defender, who has featured as a midfielder in Watford’s two Carbao Cup ties this season, is one of four players boss Paul Simpson has invited to train alongside his 18-man squad for two games this month.

The Under-20s will face Italy at AFC Fylde’s ground on Thursday before travelling to the Czech Republic on Monday, October 15.
