Watford’s Roberto Pereyra says he is living in the moment after continuing his fine form with a well-taken goal in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Pereyra scored Watford’s second as he found the top corner of Rui Patricio’s net with an outside-of-the-boot finish, a strike which gave him a fourth Watford goal this season.

The Argentine winger, who marked his return to the national team with a goal in a 4-0 defeat of Iraq earlier this month, is enjoying his football and making the most of the good times while they last.

“I am just trying to enjoy this moment with the team,” he told the club website. “We all know that football is not always like this, so we just need to keep scoring goals and try to keep winning matches.

“When I arrived I was out with various injuries but now I am living in a great moment. I think pre-season has made all the difference, we just need to carry on like this.”

Victory over Wolves saw Watford end a five game run without a win and produce a superb away performance to control their opponents.

Pereyra says the success at Molineux was the product of hard work and he believes the Watford squad have the appetite to build on their latest win.

“I was just happy for the team because we were playing very well,” he said of the win at Wolves. “We just need to keep working hard and try to score as many goals as we can.

“In this moment we want to keep working even harder and to keep doing well. We hope we keep winning because we are doing really well.”

The Hornets’ next assignment sees them take on Huddersfield Town at home on Saturday where they will look to make it two wins on the spin.

Pereyra expects the Terriers to pose a threat at Vicarage Road, despite David Wagner’s side having failed to win any of their last five Premier League games.

He said: “It is going to be a tough game because they need the points. But we are playing at home so we cannot disappoint our fans. We are preparing really well this week.”
