Croxley Community returned to form and moved up to second place in the West Herts League Premier Division table with a 5-2 victory over Kings Sports.

Fielding three 16 year olds, Kings struck first through Keith Bandara on the half hour, but their opponents were in front by the break thanks to a Harry Brock brace.

Joe Perrin made it 3-1 early in the second half and goals from debutants Michael East and Nick Rogers further strengthened Croxley’s grip on the game, before Adam Klyen netted a late consolation.

Two early headers from Callum Jones looked to have set leaders Hemel Hempstead Rovers up for a comfortable afternoon at The Engineer Harpenden, only for a bad defensive mix-up to gift the hosts a route back into the game.

Rhys Stonebank made it 3-1, but Engineer battled back to make it 3-3, only for Stonebank to score the winner near the end.

Glenn Sports made it six wins on the spin in all competitions after they triumphed 3-2 at last season’s champions Tring Athletic A.

Sam Clark gave Glenn a first-half lead, but their opponents responded with two quick goals after the break against the run of play.

Clark equalised with his second of the contest and James Hocking netted the winner late on.

Louis Bunyan and Craig McMahon were on target as Bovingdon A drew 2-2 with Langleybury Cricket Club.
