The form of Watford’s other strikers mean Stefano Okaka may have to bide his time before being given more first team chances at Vicarage Road.

Okaka came on for the final throes of the Hornets’ 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday and missed a glorious chance to snatch a point late in the game.

Troy Deeney, Andre Gray and more recently Isaac Success have impressed at the point of Watford’s attack this season and Okaka is firmly at the foot of the striking pecking order.

Javi Gracia was quick to stress he is pleased with all his striking options, but also stressed that the form of other players will impact on the game time afforded to Okaka.

“There are many things, there are players playing well at this moment. All of them deserve more time and more minutes,” Gracia said after Saturday’s game.

“It is not easy because in the games you can only play 11 in the beginning and three subs after that.

“It is not easy, but there are different options to play as a striker and Stefano is one of them. I am happy for him because he is now available after a long period out.”
