A host of Watford players have been called up to represent their countries at various levels during the international break.

Roberto Pereyra was the first of eight Hornets players to be selected, having been chosen by Argentina for a double header with Mexico on Saturday, November 17 and Wednesday, November 21.

Elsewhere, Christian Kabasele is in the Belgium squad for UEFA Nations League (UNL) meetings with Iceland (Thursday, November 15) and Switzerland (Sunday, November 18).

His central defensive partner for much of the season, Craig Cathcart, will hope to feature when Northern Ireland take on neighbours the Republic of Ireland in a game which also takes place this Thursday.

They follow that match with a UNL tie against Austria on Sunday, November 18.

Isaac Success’ continued good form sees him rewarded with a place in the Nigeria squad for an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with South Africa on Saturday, November 17 and friendly against Uganda the following Tuesday.

At Under-20 level, Ben Wilmot will look to add to his maiden cap when England face Germany in a friendly on Monday.

Domingos Quina will also be involved at Under-20 level when Portugal take on Poland on Thursday, November 15 before playing a double header with Slovakia (Friday, November 16 and Sunday November 18).

Watford’s academy also has reason to celebrate after Tom Leighton was picked to represent Northern Ireland’s Under-19s in qualifying round fixtures against Poland (tomorrow), Serbia (Saturday, 17 November), and Kazakhstan (Tuesday, November 20).

Finally, scholar Jayden Bennetts will train with Nigeria’s Under-20s during the next two international breaks as they build up for next year’s African Youth Championships.
