Jordan Henderson is a doubt for Watford’s Premier League meeting with Liverpool at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
The Liverpool captain missed England’s dramatic 2-1 UEFA Nations League win over Croatia on Sunday after suffering a recurrence of a hamstring injury against the USA.
He returned to the Merseyside club’s Melwood training ground ahead of the game with Croatia and will attempt to prove his fitness in time for the visit to Watford.
Henderson has been struggling for fitness, having spent three weeks out of action with the hamstring issue and he has started only six games this term.
The 28-year-old can no longer demand a first XI spot at Anfield and found himself on the bench at the start of the current campaign.
