Adalberto Penaranda is still awaiting confirmation of a work permit despite reports in his native Venezuela claiming he has been granted the required paperwork to play for Watford.
The 21-year-old has been unable to represent Watford since joining the club in 2016 and has spent time out on loan while awaiting a work permit which would allow him to play in England.
Reports from Venezuela earlier this month claimed the forward has been cleared to play for the Hornets, but these are wide of the mark.
The Watford Observer has been told the process of securing a work permit for Penaranda is almost complete but the Hornets are still awaiting final confirmation.
