A referee who hasn’t officiated a Premier League game since August will be in the middle for Watford’s trip to Leicester City on Saturday.
Graham Scott has taken charge of only seven matches so far this season, with his last top-flight fixture coming on August 25 when he refereed Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over West Ham United.
The Oxfordshire official was in the middle for three Watford matches last season, with the Hornets failing to win any of them.
Scott took charge of the 2-0 defeat at West Ham, the 3-2 loss at Everton, having been the man to send Miguel Britos off for his awful challenge on Anthony Knockaert in the goalless draw at home to Brighton & Hove Albion at the start of the campaign.
The Premier League has also announced that Paul Tierney is scheduled to referee Tuesday night’s home clash with leaders Manchester City.
The Lancashire official’s last Watford game will hold fonder memories for Hornets fans as it resulted in August’s 3-1 victory at Burnley.
Tierney has yet to show a red card in the 11 matches he has taken charge of this season.
