The Bushey Sports Club bandwagon gathered further momentum after they thumped Evergreen 11-0 to go top of the Herts Senior County League on Saturday.
Bilal Butt led the blitz with a double hat-trick, Adern Ali netted twice and Gavin Chatterpaul, Vincent Rispoli and Excellence Muhemba were also on target.
Bushey have the same number of points as former leaders New Salamis, but their goal difference is five superior.
Chipperfield Corinthians had a good away-day, winning 3-2 at Knebworth and are sixth in the table.
Belstone have a Herts Senior Centenary Trophy semi-final to look forward to after they beat last season’s County League champions Bovingdon on penalties.
The contest had finished 1-1, but the Radlett side got the better of their Spartan South Midlands League Division Two opponents 4-3 on spot-kicks to secure a last-four clash against Bishop’s Stortford Swifts in February.
Bovingdon Reserves ran out convincing 6-0 victors over Hatfield United in Division One and Aldenham were also triumphant at home, defeating Buntingford Town 3-1 thanks to a Darius Price brace and one from Thomas Fisher.
Old Parmiterians did not fare so well though, losing 3-0 at Hinton.
