Fortuna Dusseldorf will reportedly have to pay Watford upwards of €20 million if they wish to secure the services of Dodi Lukebakio on a permanent basis.

The forward has impressed while on loan with the Bundesliga strugglers, recently scoring a hat-trick in the surprise 3-3 draw on the road at Bayern Munich.

That trio of strikes took the 21-year-old to nine goals in 12 outings for his loan club, a feat made all the more impressive given Dusseldorf sit rock bottom of the German top tier.

It is little surprise, therefore, that Fortuna are perusing avenues to bring the Belgian in on a permanent basis.

Lukebakio struggled to make an impact for Watford after joining the Vicarage Road club from Anderlecht in the January transfer window.

He made a solitary substitute appearance and looked well out of his depth as Watford went down to a 2-0 defeat against West Ham United in February.

Watford, though, will hope Lukebakio can deliver on the considerable potential he has shown while on loan.
