Watford's hopes of ending the first half of the season with a third consecutive victory ended in disappointment as Chelsea secured a 2-1 victory at Vicarage Road.
Although Roberto Pereyra scored a fine volley to quickly level after Eden Hazard had capitalised on a mistake from Etienne Capoue to fire Maurizio Sarri's men in front in first-half injury-time, the Belgian score was to net a second from the penalty spot after being fouled by Ben Foster.
