Troy Deeney has been charged by the Football Association following his post-match comments about referee David Coote after the Hornets’ 3-3 draw at Bournemouth.

The Hornets skipper was critical of the official’s performance in a TV interview after the game, suggesting he had “bottled” big decisions in the frenetic contest on the south coast.

The striker was subsequently asked to his explain his comments by the governing body and he has now been charged.
