Watford are interested in a move for Olympique Lyonnais winger Maxwel Cornet this month, reports claim.

The 22-year-old has progressed through the French club’s youth system and caught the eye in Lyon’s Champions League fixture with Manchester City in November, scoring both goals in a 2-2 draw.

The Hornets are said to have been alerted to Cornet’s availability as he enters the final two years of his contract, with Lyon said to be prepared to cash in to enable them to try and retain their other prized assets.

The Ivorian, who would cost in the region of £20million, has been limited to 12 appearances in all competitions for Les Gones this season, scoring four times.
