Watford's draw with Burnley was not a game that will live long in the memory of either team's supporters.

However, among an overall drab affair were a few standout performances.

Here is how we rated the players' individual offerings:

Ben Foster - 7

The Hornets' evergreen 'keeper did everything that was required of him in the match, although some may say he was fortunate with an offside decision late on.

His clean sheet was not entirely down to his goalkeeping, as Burnley missed sitters on more than one occasion, but he certainly did not deserve to be on the losing side.

Kiko Femenia - 6

As the game went on, Femenia became more and more of a threat on the right hand side and delivered dangerous crosses into the box on more than one occasion.

He was unfortunate not to have finished the game after coming off with an injury, while his right-back replacement Adrian Mariappa offered less going forward.

He struggled defensively at times in the first half.

Adrian Mariappa - 7

Mariappa's display was solid and he kept the likes of Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood quiet for the most part.

There were occasions when he lost his man and had to be bailed out by others, but overall he stuck to his task well.

He also made a vital, goal-saving tackle in the first half with Barnes moments away from pulling the trigger.

Christian Kabasele - 6

While Mariappa was solid, Kabasele's performance was a little more shaky.

There were moments when he produced vital blocks and tackles, but more often than not when a Burnley striker found space, it was Kabasele who was at fault.

Gracia will be pleased to have him back at his disposal, though and a clean sheet upon his return is certainly a positive.

Jose Holebas - 6

The Greek full-back is at his best when he has space to operate on the left.

With both sides spending the majority of the game tussling in midfield, he was not able to make his mark on proceedings.

He was caught short a couple of times at the back, but more or less defended well and limited chances for the visitors.

Tom Cleverley - 6

Before the game, Javi Gracia described Cleverley as being like both Etienne Capoue and Abdoulaye Doucoure rolled into one.

However, with Doucoure absent through injury, Cleverley never really filled the void.

His passing was slick at times and he helped create a couple of rare forays into the Burnley box, but overall he struggled to deal with the Clarets' physicality.

Etienne Capoue - 5

While Tom Cleverley was truggling to do Abdoulaye Doucoure's job, Capoue was struggling to do his own.

Burnley were much stronger in the centre of the field and seemed hungrier to get to second balls, something Gracia had stressed the importance of before the game.

Capoue had quite a lacklustre game and failed to really produce anything noteworthy.

Ken Sema - 6

This performance was an improvement on the one that saw him get substituted against Crystal Palace.

However, Watford again looked a much more threatening team once he had left the field.

His decision making and unwillingness to drive forward can sometimes be a frustrating watch.

Roberto Pereyra - 6

The Argentine's game suffered much in the same way Jolebas's did, with chances for him to attack few and far between.

He showed his ability to create something out nothing when he curled a shot tantalisingly past the post, but in truth Burnley managed to crowd him out of the game very well.

Gerard Deulofeu - 7

Deulofeu was Watford's best source of creativity in a game severely lacking in any real quality.

The Spaniard found space on the right several times in the second half and looked a dangerous prospect throughout.

He should have scored when he had the chance early on.

Troy Deeney - 6

The skipper's usual boisterousness seemed to be missing from his game and he failed to cause the kind of problems he is expected to.

He did threaten on a couple of occasions and could have scored the winner, but was denied by a good save from Tom Heaton.

Substitutes

Isaac Success - 7

Where Deeney failed, Success did a little better.

He was strong, held the ball up well and as a result two Burnely players were booked for challenges on him.

He could be a very good player with more of a consistent end product.

Miguel Britos - N/A

Joined the game too late to make a real impact.
