Watford head coach Javi Gracia has called for his team to show their ambition after progressing to the FA Cup fifth round with a win over Newcastle United.

The Hornets came out on top of a turgid FA Cup game, with two second half goals from Andre Gray and Isaac Success. Now Gracia wants them to aim high.

He said: "In this moment we are in a good position in the league, but we are in January yet and there’s a lot of games in both competitions.

"Now is the moment when we have to show our level and be demanding and show our ambition."

The FA Cup match was Watford's third against the Magpies this season and the head coach was delighted to get the win against a side who have frustrated the Hornets of late.

Gracia was delighted with the performance of all of his players after making 11 changes to his starting lineup.

He said: "We have played twice against Newcastle this season and we didn’t win.

"In one game I think we deserved more, but today I think it was more close and we had control I think, but you never know what will happen at the end of the game.

"We worked well. We dominated a part of the game and in that moment we score the goals it was a good performance for us.

"I am very pleased for all of them sometimes it’s not easy for me to explain how important are all my players. When I say I believe in all my squad, it’s because I believe in all my squad.

"In games like today it’s important to show all of them are working really well."
