Watford FC Girls enjoyed plenty of success at the Hertfordshire FA Youth Futsal Tournament.

Both the Under-10s and the Under-12s won their competitions in the event at the University of Hertfordshire, while the Under-14s entered two teams with the Yellows edging out the Greens in the final to win the third of three trophies collected by the club.

The Under-16s also entered two teams but neither of them could prevent a strong Garston Ladies Lionesses side from winning their competition.

The winners of each age group will go on to represent Hertfordshire at the regional finals, which could result in progression to the national finals to be held at St George’s Park.

With teams in futsal action, it meant a quieter programme in the Herts Girls Football Partnership League, and there was only one Under-9 team in action, who travelled to Garston Ladies Pumas.

Evie Rose scored twice and Bella Millar was also on target in an enjoyable match for the youngsters.

The Under-11s were also away as they went to Berkhamsted Raiders Youth. Erin O’Connor and Zara Labastide scored a hat-trick each while Sarah Zaoui, Solange Brellier, Sophie Birkett and Kiahna Atkins were also all on target.

Watford’s Under-13s were the only team to play at home on Saturday, but they went down 4-2 to Chorleywood Common Pumas, with Maddi Armstrong and Ellie Young scoring the consolation goals.

The Under-15s made the trip to Stevenage for a game between two unbeaten sides, and they went into the match with confidence having been the first team in two seasons to take points off their opponents in a 0-0 draw earlier in the campaign.

It was another positive result as Susan Uwaifo’s equaliser ensured a 1-1 draw, as did a late double save from goalkeeper Hannah Iguchi.
