Troy Deeney has been nominated for the January PFA Bristol Street Motors Player of the Month Award.
The Watford captain helped his side make an unbeaten start to 2019 prior to Wednesday’s defeat at Tottenham Hotspur and scored three goals, netting twice in the 3-3 draw at Bournemouth before ensuring the Hornets successfully negotiated their FA Cup third round tie at Woking with the second goal in the 2-0 win.
Deeney is one of six players shortlisted for the award, three of whom play for Manchester United in David De Gea, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford.
Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has also been shortlisted, along with Manchester City’s Leroy Sane.
