Talented 16-year-old wild card Ryan Davies advanced through to the next round of the BetVictor Shoot Out after defeating Robbie Williams.

The English under-18 champion won through to the last-64 of the world ranking event at Watford Colosseum, where all matches last a maximum of 10 minutes.

Davies took control with a break of 21 and survived a late scare when Williams, 32, had the chance to win it but missed a tricky red when 24-18 behind.

Another wild card, Irish under-21 champion Stephen Bateman, is also through to the second round after he knocked out Mark Davis.

Former women's under-21 champion Emma Parker is out. The 19-year-old from Essex was on a break of 16 when she missed a red into the centre pocket and Laxman Rawat made a break of 48 to win 61-17.

Dominic Dale, who won the event in 2014, defeated Yuan Sijun while former World champion Stuart Bingham knocked in a 55 break to get the better of Matthew Stevens.

Two other Crucible champions also progressed after Shaun Murphy beat Mark King and Graeme Dott knocked out Martin O'Donnell.

Belgium's Luca Brecel made a 74 break to beat Farakh Ajaib while a 72 break from Wales' Jak Jones brought an exit for 14-year-old Scot Liam Graham.

The closest match of the day saw Kishan Hirani win by one point. The Welshman was one point in front on 55 against Yan Bingtao, who missed the yellow as the match klaxon sounded for the end of the frame.

All matches at the tournament are decided over a single frame, with a shot clock giving players a maximum of 15 seconds to take shots in the first five minutes and 10 seconds in the final five minutes.
