Fortuna Dusseldorf have reportedly tried to schedule a secret meeting with Watford to discuss the future of out-on-loan striker Dodi Lukebakio.

The Belgian striker joined Watford from Anderlecht in January 2018 and was allowed to leave on loan the following summer.

The 21-year-old has impressed since, scoring 12 goals and registering five assists, including a hat-trick against Bayern Munich and a goal in a win over Borussia Dortmund.

According to German sports publication Sport Bild, Fortuna are keen on signing Lukebakio permanently, while Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach and a few clubs in England are also reported to be interested.

Dusseldorf currently have no option to make his loan move permanent and are believed to be keen on setting up a meeting with Watford executives to discuss the Belgian's future amid interest from elsewhere.

Sport Bild reports that the striker's current market valuation is around six million Euros, but that figure is based solely on figures quoted on Transfermarkt.com and that Watford would almost certainly be looking for a fee much higher than that before they allow Lukebakio to move on.
