Glenn Sports were denied the opportunity to go top of the West Herts League after a gutsy Croxley Community held them to a 2-2 draw on Saturday.

Sports took an early lead as James Hocking set up Jack Bishop for a fifth-minute opener. But their opponents levelled before the break and started the second half on top, going in front with a quick counter-attack from a Glenn corner.

Sports ensured they were not on the end of a defeat though, as Bishop unselfishly squared for Frankie Henley to equalise.

The draw leaves Glenn two points behind leaders Hemel Hempstead Rovers, but with two games in hand.

Tring Athletic A moved up to fifth in the Premier Division with a convincing 4-0 win against Bovingdon A.

Veteran Andy Humphreys led the way with a brace and George Hill and Martin Travers were also on target.

Tring Town dropped more points in their quest for the Division One title after being held to a 1-1 draw by Sun Postal Rovers, although they still have a healthy eight-point advantage at the summit.

Below-par Tring missed many chances but still went in front after the break through a Ryan Shefras penalty.

Sun rallied though, and were rewarded when Jack Newman netted a rebound off the keeper.

Tring Corinthians Reserves moved into second place for the first time this season as goals from Alex Chilcott and Connor Hearn earned a 2-1 victory over bottom side Oxhey.

The fixture between Potten End and Croxley Community Reserves was always likely to be a close affair and so it proved.

Hosts Potten started strongly and were 2-0 to the good inside 10 minutes thanks to Drew Duggan and Dale Jenkins.

However, Croxley battled back in the second half to secure a 2-2 draw with goals from Billy Myers and Nick Rogers, although their opponents did have two late efforts disallowed.

Harpenden Rovers Reserves moved up to fourth after dominating a depleted Hunton Bridge side to run out 7-2 victors.

Ben Gull led the way with a hat-trick, Ross McNiven netted twice and Matt Braizer and Callan Deradoor also got in on the scoring act.

A goal from James Spavin was enough for Oxhey A to prevail 1-0 at home to Global AFC.
