Miguel Britos has said he wants to leave Watford and return to Uruguay at the end of the season, after spending 11 years in Europe.
The Uruguayan told Italian reporter Gianluca Di Marzo in an interview he misses his home country and wants to go back to South America.
He said: "I have now decided. At the end of the season I finish the contract with Watford and return to Uruguay. Definitely.
"We'll see if in Maldonado, my city, or in one of the capital's teams. I will decide calmly, but in the meantime I know the time has come.
"I have been in Europe for eleven years: I miss my friends, my family barbecues. At home we are very united and I suffer not being able to live these moments any longer when I want.
"I think of my parents, of birthdays I don't celebrate with them. At least when I played in Italy there was a Christmas break. I went back down and recharged myself.
"But here we always play, I can't even go back to parties."
The 33-year-old has been with Watford since 2015 and his contract is due to expire at the end of the current campaign.
