WITH the retiral of Allan McGregor just before the international break, it was a little bit sad to see that there was no Rangers players in the latest Scotland squad.
I’m not saying that any of the current crop would have made a difference on Thursday against Kazakhstan, because there were plenty of Celtic players in that team who were well beaten, but Rangers have always had a fine tradition of providing Scotland players over the years.
It is only really Ryan Jack who would be in contention at the minute, because there aren’t that many eligible Scots in the Rangers team as it is, but there are a few exciting talents coming through that I’m sure we will see earning Scotland caps in the not so distant future.
The likes of Glenn Middleton and Ross McCrorie are exciting prospects, and hopefully that will mean there will again be players soon that can be cheered on in both the light blue of Rangers and the dark blue of Scotland.
