Watford's magnificent FA Cup run came to a crashing hault against treble champions Manchester City, as they found themselves on the end of a 6-0 footballing lesson.

The Hornets started with a spirited opening to the game before City's quality caused them to unravel completely. Here's how we rated their efforts.

Heurelho Gomes - 5

This was not how Gomes wanted to bow out of the game, but there was little he could've done to keep out the ferocious fire power of the Citizens.

The six goal scoreline may flatter City a bit, but Gomes was left looking helpless for a lot of the game and was often more of an ornament than an obstacle.

Kiko Femenia - 4

After a positive start, Femenia went on to have one of the least comfortable afternoons.

He was run ragged by Raheem Sterling and looked disoriented and bewildered by the end.

Adrian Mariappa - 5

Mariappa had some strong moments during the game, but was easily bypassed by a swashbuckling City side.

Craig Cathcart - 5

Like Mariappa, Cathcart looked solid enough early on, dealing with City's attacks from the wings.

However, as the game went on, he had no answer for any of the champions' attacking threats.

Jose Holebas - 3

After having his red card overturned, one might have expected Holebas to be fired up and ready to perform.

Yet, he put in a wholly anonymous effort, gave Riyad Mahrez all the space he could ever want and never looked capable of influencing the game.

Etienne Capoue - 5

Not a lot to say about Capoue's performance other than he came up against opponents much stronger and better than himself.

City easily nullified his talents and made light work of the midfield battle.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - 4

Doucoure had a similar game to that of Capoue but made a vital mistake that led directly to a goal.

He really struggled to affect play and had no answers to City's dominance.

Will Hughes - 4

The former Derby County man had so few opportunities to make an impact he quickly became a spectator as Pep Guardiola's men shifted through the gears and controlled the game.

Roberto Pereyra - 2

Squandered a golden chance in the opening exchanges and never recovered.

He shirked tackles, was at fault for goal number three and was generally sloppy throughout.

Gerard Deulofeu - 3

On the other wing, Deulofeu was not a great deal better than Pereyra, but things could have been different had the Argentine finished off the chance put on a plate for him by the former Barcelona man.

After that, Watford lost their confidence and Deulofeu really suffered. He looked Frightened to shoot at times and bereft of creative ideas.

Troy Deeney - 3

Before the game the skipper talked up the battle between himself and Kompany, but there was no contest on the day.

Deeney failed to ruffle any feathers and in all honesty, did very little.
