Joao Pedro’s stunning introduction to Brazilian football continued as he scored his seventh goal in 10 days last night.
The 17-year-old, who has agreed to move to Watford in January but has reportedly been the subject of enquiries from Liverpool, was on target in the 80th minute of 10-man Fluminense’s 3-2 defeat at Bahia.
This goal followed the first-half hat-trick the teenage striker scored in his first professional start, a 4-1 Copa Scudamericana victory over Atletico Nacional, having netted three times off the bench in two matches against Cruzeiro in the Brazilian Cup followed by a league fixture.
Those seven goals have come in just 209 minutes of match action, meaning Joao Pedro has enjoyed a better scoring start to his career than players of the calibre of Neymar and Gabriel Jesus.
