Watford Grammar School for Boys will start their bid for a fifth Watford Observer Fourteen14 Plate triumph with a trip to Leverstock Green B.

The Rickmansworth Road school team, who defeated Watford Town A in last year’s final and were also victorious in 2012, 2013 and 2015, qualified for the competition as one of the eight sides knocked out in the first round of the main Shield competition.

The boys school could again meet Town A in the semi-finals, but the Woodside club have been paired with Langleybury in the standout tie of the Plate first round.

The full draw for the first round (ties to be played by Friday, June 14) is:

Watford Town A v Langleybury

Leverstock Green B v Watford Grammar School for Boys

Watford Town B v Leverstock Green A

Aldenham v West Herts

Meanwhile, the full list of dates and venues for the semi-finals and finals in both competitions can now be confirmed.

The plate semi-finals will be played on Tuesday, June 18 and Friday, June 21 at Abbots Langley and Chipperfield Clarendon’s grounds respectively.

Abbots will also host the final on Thursday, July 4.

Kings Langley will stage the first Shield semi-final on Tuesday, June 25, with the second last-four game to be played 24 hours later at West Herts.

The Stags' Park Avenue home is also the venue for the Shield final on Wednesday, July 10/.

All dates of the semi-finals and finals are fixed and will only change in the event of inclement weather.

Competition organisers wish to thank all four clubs for agreeing to host the latter stages of the two competitions.
