Watford will face Real Sociedad in a pre-season friendly at Vicarage Road on Saturday, August 3 it has been confirmed.

The club announced recently that a game would be taking place against overseas opposition the week before the 2019/20 Premier League season begins and now the opponents have been named as the La Liga club.

The game will also be this year's Graham Taylor matchday, a day in which the club commemorates the man regarded as the Hornets' greatest ever manager.

Sociedad were the opponents for the first ever Graham Taylor matchday in 2017, while last year's game against Sampdoria saw the club unveil a statue of Taylor outside Vicarage Road.

Kick off will be at 3pm and tickets will cost £10 for adults and £5 for children.

Seating will be available in both the Rookery Stand and the north half of the Sir Elton John Stand, due to ongoing building works.

Furthermore, the club has now confirmed games against Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen during their pre-season trip to Austria, which had been announced by ESPN last month.

The Ajax game will take place at 6pm local time on Thursday, July 18 at the Saalfelden Arena in Saalfelden, while the Leverkusen game will kick off at 3pm local time on Saturday, July 20 at the Stadio Alois Latini in Zell am See.
