Everton have abandoned their pursuit of Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, it has been reported.
The Liverpool Echo suggests that, following two rejected bids, the Toffees are not likely to table a third offer for the Frenchman.
Former Hornets' coach Marco Silva was keen to link up with the midfielder again after he made the move to Goodison Park last year.
However, bids of both £32 million and £40 million were knocked back by Watford earlier this week, while the player was not thought to be keen on any move that did not offer him European football.
The Hornets see Doucoure as one of their key assets and value the player much higher than Everton's price tag.
Some reports have suggested the player would not be available for less than £60m.
